Ruslan Chagaev was born in Russia on Thursday, October 19, 1978 (Generation X generation). He is 46 years old and is a Libra. Ruslan Chagaev born 19 October 1978) is an Uzbek-born Russian Tatar professional boxer. He is a two-time and current WBA heavyweight champion, having first won the title in 2007 with a majority decision victory over Nikolai Valuev; this made him the first and to date only Asian in the history of boxing to hold a major heavyweight title. He was made “champion in recess” after sustaining an injury and was forced to relinquish the title after failing to face Valuev in a scheduled rematch. In June 2009, Chagaev suffered his first career defeat to IBF/WBO/IBO champion Wladimir Klitschko. Chagaev won the WBA title for a second time – the organisation’s “regular” title – in July 2014 by defeating Fres Oquendo. He became the first Asian in history to hold a major heavyweight title.
