Maxine Kumin (June 6, 1925 – February 6, 2014) was an American poet and author. She was appointed Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress in 1981–1982. She won both the Eunice Tietjens Memorial Prize for Poetry and the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry.
She published her debut poetry collection, Halfway, in 1961; a children’s book called Follow the Fall and a novel entitled Through Dooms of Love soon followed. Maxine Winokur attended AB, Radcliffe College (1946), MA, Radcliffe College (1948), English, Tufts University (1958-61). Maxine Kumin is a member of Richest Celebrities and Poets.
