Marcel Lajos Breuer (; 22 May 1902 – 1 July 1981), was a Hungarian-born modernist, architect, and furniture designer. Breuer extended the sculptural vocabulary he had developed in the carpentry shop at the Bauhaus into a personal architecture that made him one of the world’s most popular architects at the peak of 20th-century design. He was the 1968 recipient of the prestigious American Institute of Architects (AIA) Gold Medal. He was a furniture designer as well as an architect; his most famous work in this area is the Wassily Chair of 1925.
He trained at the famous Bauhaus art school in Germany and went on to work for Jack Pritchard’s Isokon architectural company in England. Marcel Breuer is a member of Richest Celebrities and Architects.
