A British director of theater and opera and an author of over a dozen non-fiction books, he also had a career as an actor, artist, television host, and physician. He is perhaps most famous for his innovative work as an opera director; his unique 1982 production of the classic opera, Rigoletto, was set in 1950s Manhattan and took on a Mafia theme.

Jonathan Miller was born in England on Saturday, July 21, 1934 (Silent Generation generation). He is 90 years old and is a Cancer. Sir Jonathan Wolfe Miller, CBE is an English theatre and opera director, actor, author, television presenter, humourist, and medical doctor. While training in medicine, and specializing in neurology, in the late 1950s, he first came to prominence in the early 1960s with his role in the comedy revue Beyond the Fringe with fellow writers and performers Peter Cook, Dudley Moore and Alan Bennett. He directed television movie productions of Othello, The Taming of the Shrew, and King Lear. He later served as Artistic Director of the Old Vic Theatre.
